The Willamette University Public Interest Law Project (WUPILP) is a student-run organization with a mission to fill the need for equal access to justice through encouraging involvement in public interest law. Public interest law covers a wide spectrum of traditional legal practice, covering nonprofits, governmental work, immigration, criminal law, and other fields of law that touch underserved communities.
WUPILP seeks to provide law students with opportunities to work in the public interest field through our Summer Fellowship Program. Each summer WUPILP funds fellowships through various fundraising events, including our Bid for Justice Auction. Past fellows have worked with county public defenders' offices, legal aid, Catholic Charities, MercyCorps, and numerous other organizations."
